Terms of service

Draft. This page hasn't been reviewed by a solicitor yet, and details marked TBD are still to be confirmed.
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use Natter, a service of [Company name TBD] Ltd ([TBD]). By starting a chat you agree to them. Our privacy notice explains how we use your data.
2. Who can use it
Natter is for UK businesses and sole traders. You must be 18 or over and acting for your business. We don't build online shops.
3. Prototypes and proposals
- Your prototype and proposal are free, with no obligation to buy.
- Your preview link is private and unlisted, and stays available for 30 days unless you buy.
- Proposal prices are fixed for the period shown on the proposal.
- We don't make changes to a prototype before you buy, but you can leave feedback for us to act on afterwards.
4. AI-generated work
Your site's design, words and images are created with the help of AI and reviewed by people. AI can make mistakes, so please check facts, prices, opening hours and claims about your business before going live. You're responsible for what your website says once you approve it.
5. Your content
You promise that you own, or have permission to use, anything you give us, such as your logo, photos, words and existing website. You give us permission to use it to make and run your website.
6. Ownership
Once you've paid in full, you own the website we make for you, including its design, words and images. Until then, we keep ownership. We keep the right to reuse our general layouts, code libraries and know-how, which aren't unique to you.
7. Paying
- When you accept a proposal you pay a deposit, shown on your proposal, and the balance on delivery.
- Care plans are monthly subscriptions that start when your site launches. You can cancel with 30 days' notice.
- Prices are shown in pounds. Whether VAT applies is shown on your proposal.
8. Changes after you buy
Your first round of changes is free. After that, each round of changes is charged at the rate shown on your proposal.
9. Cancelling
You can cancel before we start work for a full refund of your deposit. Once work has started, we'll refund the deposit less the value of work already done. This doesn't affect your legal rights.
10. Our responsibility to you
We'll do our work with reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for losses we couldn't have foreseen, or for business losses such as lost profits. Our total liability to you is limited to what you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
11. Hosting and care plans
If we host your site, we aim to keep it online and backed up, but can't promise it will never be unavailable. We'll tell you about planned maintenance in advance where we can.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales.
